NETWORKING WORKSHOP

Film festivals can be fun and exciting, they can also be daunting and bewilding. They’re a great way to meet like minded people and see independent films, make connections which can lead to networking your way into that dream job. When you are relatively introverted, a newbie who hates the awkwardness of not knowing anyone at the party, it can be hard. In this workshop Bonita Drake will give you all her secrets and give you the tools to navigate through not only Light Till Dark but all the future festivals you will find yourself in.

Bonita has traveled the world visting film festivals with and without her films, over the many years she has perfected her pitch, refined her skills and has networked her way to meetings with the likes of Amazon and Netflix.

With three workshops during the festival she will be passing her knowledge on to you.

**Bonita Drake** is a writer, director, producer and proud dyslexic. Her love of all genres of film started from an early age when her father took her to see her first James Bond film in the cinema. After graduating from Newport film school (UWCN with a BA in Film) she crewed under the tutelage of producer David Ball working with the likes of Simon Pegg, David Schwimmer and Natascha McElhone.

Bonita has made numerous shorts that have played at (and occasionally won) film festivals all over the world. With her regular co-writing/directing partner (and husband) Johan Bromander she has made the feature film American Burger which premiered at Sitges before a successful festival run with for instance an audience vote for a film to be re-screened at Bifan in South Korea.

This workshop is in collaboration with Bilda.
